Sea festivals aren’t just in Taipei anymore！Chang Sisan: The Masago Music Festival creates a southern stage

Organized by the Tainan City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau, the “2013 Tainan Masago Music Festival” will be held on July 12 (Friday) and July 13 (Saturday) at the Masago Coastal Recreation Area. This year (2013), Chang Sisan, founder of the Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival, serves as the program’s chief planner, with performances by 10 well-known artists and bands including Patty Chen, Chang Chen-yue, Ding Dang, and Quartet, bringing an electrifying atmosphere to southern Taiwan.

Chen Chun-an, Director of Tainan City’s Tourism Bureau, also stated that in the future, they aim to establish Masago in Tainan as a youth-oriented seaside music festival, and hopefully extend it to three days, inviting everyone to come to Masago to “gallop with love and roam through youth.” Chang Sisan, founder of the Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival, believes that the “2013 Tainan Masago Music Festival” creates a performance platform for musicians from southern Taiwan, and announced from this starting point: “This year, the ocean is not in Taipei—it’s only in Tainan!”

While enjoying the concert at Masago, don’t miss the chance to experience the most rustic fishing port charm in Jiugue, Gedian, savor sweet and delicious seafood, and explore the nationwide first-of-its-kind “One View, Double Sculptures” Art Festival in the Yunlin-Kaohsiung-Tainan Scenic Area. This area is reputed to have some of the cleanest and whitest sandy beaches in Taiwan, making it a rare and unique tourist attraction.

The Tainan Masago Music Festival, held over two consecutive days at the Masago Coastal Recreation Area, offersfreeadmission throughout the event period.
