It’s actually an explosion remnant site—Mexico’s hidden secret beach!

Locatedin Mexico,Playa Del Amor is a secluded beach tucked inside a cave, completely invisible from the outside—it’s a secret paradise. In the past, you had to swim to get there, but now you can access it by kayak, making it possible for non-swimmers to enjoy the beauty of Playa Del Amor too.

Playa Del Amor means “Lover’s Beach,” and it’s locatedin Mexico’s Marieta Islands. This unique landscape wasn’t naturally formed, but was created during World War I whenthe Mexicangovernment used this uninhabited island for military testing—the special cave is the remnant of an explosion.

When viewed from above, it looks like a secret base in outer space. This serendipitously-formed mysterious beauty has attracted many visitors from afar. The waters of Playa Del Amor are crystal clear, and the sands are fine, making it a great spot for swimming.
