Not to be outshone by the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival, the Toucheng Township Office in Yilan County is hosting the “Wushih Harbor WOO-HA Ocean Music Festival,” which launched on July 5 at Wushih Harbor in Yilan. On the evenings of July 5 and 6, there will be large beach music parties featuring performances by 2013 Super Idol winner Hsieh Po-an, entertainer Chu Li-ching, and renowned DJ SerPico, bringing energy and excitement to Wushih Harbor through music and enthusiasm.

The 2013 Toucheng Ocean Culture Tourism Festival takes place from July 5 to 7 and July 13 to 14 over two consecutive weekends. This year, the organizers have specially arranged a beach area, beer area, and local cultural relics exhibition area to allow visitors to choose activities that interest them. Wushih Harbor has long been a surfing mecca. In addition to the music festival, international surfing competitions will also be held on July 6 and 7, where the public can either participate or enjoy watching top surfers compete.

From 3 PM to 6 PM on July 6 and 7 at the 'EBC Ocean Spring' booth, show that you’ve joined the Facebook fan page and leave a comment saying “I love EBC Ocean” to receive a buy-one-get-one-free voucher for light afternoon tea.

Organizers stated that the beach area offers over six types of beach activities, including beach volleyball, sand sculpture experiences, and beach horseplay battles. The beer area is holding a beer carnival where visitors can enjoy cool beers to beat the heat and even have a chance to win exquisite small gifts. There will also be a “Beach Sweetheart” runway show to delight visitors’ eyes. The local cultural relics exhibition area allows visitors to explore the culture and historical beauty of Toucheng through an exhibition of artifacts from Guishan Island.

For transportation, the organizers have partnered withKuo-Kuang Motor Transportto offer a newly opened National Freeway Hsueh Tunnel Route 5 bus service departing from Taipei. Passengers can board atYuanshan Transfer Station, Nangang Exhibition Center Station, or Nangang Railway Station and arrive at Wushih Harbor in one hour.With the new bus route, visitors can also explore other nearby attractions such as dining on seafood in Nanfang’ao, attending the Yilan Children’s Folklore and Handicraft Festival, or sampling snacks at the Luodong Night Market.
