Let me report on another new spot, Fat Bi again！ There have been quite a few new openings lately—I can hardly keep up, and there was even a soft opening on May 1st. I dashed to write about it, but today’s post is from my phone！ I didn’t bring a camera since it was a spontaneous meet-up, so I just used my phone to snap some casual shots. The shop name is super cute—Hippo Late-Night Eats—with a slightly hipster-style storefront and a touch of Japanese flair. But if you’re looking it up by address, it’s actually a hidden gem. Fat Bi took a bit of a detour—recommended entry is through the alley beside A-Cai Chicken Rice on Xia Lin Road, and you’ll soon spot the place Up～

The ice cups in this wooden cabinet are oddly adorable！！ Next to them is a whole row of Granny’s Water—I don’t know why, but it gives off a bit of a general store vibe～

Now let’s check out the MENU！ They offer hot-pressed toast, cold noodles, wraps, and drinks. Most of it is light fare—just enough to fill you up without being too heavy.

Not many seats inside, probably only enough for around 8 people！ I’m not sure if there are more seats in the back, but if not, it’ll probably fill up quickly XD. The decor has a slightly hipster ambiance, with plenty of books to read.

Mozzarella Cheese Egg Roll with Melted Potato Mash ＄40

The wrap is cooked just right, with a slightly chewy texture. The filling includes cheese and mashed potato, along with sweet corn. After eating the mashed potato, you feel quite satisfied—it’s an overall refreshing flavor.

Summer Cold Noodles Bikini (Green Mustard) ＄60

Cold noodles are perfect for hot summer days, and these come paired with fresh fruit. I chose green mustard, which gives a spicy and refreshing kick.

German Sausage with Cheese ＄50

The hot-pressed toast has slightly crispy edges, and the aroma of the cheese is rich. Paired with the savory German sausage, I really liked this flavor—it’s delicious！

Granny’s Water ＄20

They sell Granny’s Water here, which is pretty unique！！ It’s really popular lately. It’s non-carbonated when you drink it, and tastes a bit like banana oil？ It’s sweet, and the taste is uniquely refreshing. Even friends who usually avoid sugary drinks ended up loving it. This place has it too！！

Milk Tea ＄25

The milk tea is pretty good—it’s your standard milk tea, and I’d say it has that breakfast-shop flavor XD. Alright～ Here’s another great spot for light meals and late-night eats～ Friends who are interested should definitely give it a try Up～
