Traveling to Mars? An Alien World Through Infrared Photography

You might think this is a scene from a "Mars N? Chapter" movie, but no—it’s a real place on Earth. It just happens to have been captured using an infrared photography system.
Photographer Bradley G. Munkowitz used an infrared lens to shoot in Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska, USA. The originally lush green mountains turned into a volcanic, flame-colored landscape—eerie and mysterious. Combined with massive glaciers and riverbanks, it resembles the perilous scenery of Mars.

Previously, other photographers have also used infrared lenses to shoot New York’s Central Park, transforming lush green trees into the romantic beauty of falling cherry blossoms.
