However, Changhua’s is one of a kind: a pond shaped like twin hearts, located near Pinghe Community and Shengyao Temple in Dacun Township. As a sister community with Pinghe Community in Qimei, this symbol has become a shared emblem on the main island of Taiwan, attracting crowds of visitors eager to snap photos.

The original red-brick wall has been painted in vibrant colors, complemented by nostalgic murals and classic old-time candies that bring back a simple, wholesome atmosphere. Stepping inside feels like hopping on a time machine, allowing many travelers to rediscover the flavors of the past.

The outdoor candy store not only features drinks and sweets on the walls for photos, but also offers popsicles for purchase—watermelon, banana, Kyoho grape, and seasonal mango—four flavors that let you savor old-school goodness even before stepping inside.

Unlike the other two featured hidden gems with clear signage, the Flower Tree Bank is a bit less obvious—but just follow the signs and you’ll reach it in about 900 meters. Created by the local community, this nature space is unique for being completely free to enter. First-time visitors will likely be amazed by the lush greenery that spreads across the entire park.

This place flips the conventional idea of a “bank” on its head—it doesn’t store money, but something even more valuable: nature. Every flower and tree is a precious asset of the Earth. As we develop our cities, we must also protect the environment and conserve resources—this is how the Flower Tree Bank came to be.
