The bustling underground food court of Taipei 101 suddenly erupted with the sound of "Green Island Serenade" as a group of musical performers staged an impromptu "flash mob" concert recently, drawing the attention of all diners—both local and international—who were captivated by the beautiful melodies.

Folk singerLee Chien-cheng and director Ma Yi-zhong, among others, led the "Taiwan Surprise Choir" in selecting the lively Taipei 101 underground food court for their "music flash mob event." They performed popular Taiwanese folk songs including "Green Island Serenade," "Jasmine Flower," "Looking Forward to the Spring Breeze," and "High Mountains," which garnered 65,000 views within two days after the video was uploaded.

The 10-minute music flash mob received high praise from both domestic and international visitors on-site, who described it as “surprising, beautiful, and touching.” Many swayed and hummed along to the melodies, while some even cheered, “This is Taiwan’s soft power—awesome!”
