Offering 11 weekly round-trip flights — China Airlines Hawaii to launch code-share flights

Following the launch of two weekly non-stop flights to Hawaii on June 2, starting from the winter schedule on October 27, the national carrier will collaborate with Hawaiian Airlines through code-sharing to provide passengers with up to 11 weekly round-trip flights between Taipei and Honolulu. This code-share partnership will offer travelers more convenient and diverse services, helping to expand the flight network.

China Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines held a code-share signing ceremony today (11th) at Taipei W Hotel, co-hosted by China Airlines Chairman Sun Hong-xiang and Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO Mark Dunkerley. In his speech, Sun Hong-xiang said: "Currently, China Airlines operates nine weekly round-trip flights between Taipei and Honolulu, including two non-stop flights and seven with a stopover in Tokyo, Japan. With the addition of two weekly code-share flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines, the total of 11 weekly round-trips between Taiwan and Hawaii will enhance business and tourism exchanges between the two regions."

As the first European or American airline to operate in Taiwan, Mark Dunkerley places great importance on the Taiwanese market. In an exclusive interview, he mentioned that Hawaii is a region rich in unique culture, cuisine, and outdoor activities, offering many surprising experiences that make it well worth a visit by Taiwanese travelers. Regarding future route expansion plans, Hawaiian Airlines' next step will be to extend its reach to Beijing, making it the next Asian destination after Taiwan.

Additionally, on the topic of Taiwanese travelers visiting the U.S. after the visa waiver, Mark Dunkerley added that since the U.S. announced the visa waiver, passenger traffic has significantly increased by 40% to 100%. This data shows that the visa waiver has increased travelers' motivation to visit the U.S., while also raising Hawaii's visibility among Taiwanese.

In addition to the Taipei-Honolulu flights, the code-share arrangement between the two airlines also extends to routes between the U.S., Southeast Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Passengers can take Hawaiian Airlines code-share flights to the Hawaiian Islands, and travel between Honolulu and cities on the U.S. West Coast; passengers traveling from Hawaii to Taiwan can also connect via China Airlines flights to extend their journey to Southeast Asian cities such as Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur, as well as to Australia and New Zealand.
