Comfortable sofas and soothing music — Ximending’s “Ting Bar” pioneers a new creative space for cultural performances

In recent years, Taiwan’s music scene has embraced a trend of cultural creativity, even making its way into hotels. The Amba Taipei Ximending Yishe, under the Regent Taipei Hotel Group, has created Taiwan’s only live concert venue within a hotel, offering a brand-new musical experience. It is also the first hotel in Taiwan to establish a dedicated music performance space. From now until September, every Tuesday and Sunday evening from 7 to 9 PM, a series of musicians will take turns performing.

The Amba Yishe, which was awarded the title of Best New Business Hotel in the World in 2012, has increased its investment in the cultural and creative industry this year. In partnership with the well-known music venue Legacy Taipei, it combines hospitality with live performances and art culture to create the newest live music secret spot in Ximending — “Legacy mini.” Located on the fifth floor of Amba Yishe, “Ting Bar” covers an area of 105 ping (approximately 347 square meters) and can accommodate 80 to 120 people. Huang Xuexia, General Manager of Amba Yishe, said: “We hope that through this innovative stage, we can showcase the diversity and uniqueness of Chinese-language music.”
