Who says flower seas are only for spring? Even in the sweltering summer heat, Taiwan boasts many once-in-a-lifetime, breathtaking flower fields waiting for you to explore. From the hydrangea season on Yangmingshan in May, the colorful lupine blooms at Fushoushan Farm, the lotus flowers in Tainan and Taoyuan in June, to the daylily fields in July—various vibrant hues pop up all over the island. Hydrangeas: Late May to late June (Zhushanhu, Yangmingshan)

The Hutan Community on Yangmingshan in Taipei City offers different scenery in each season. Starting around late May every year, colorful hydrangeas begin to bloom, spreading a vibrant sea of flowers along the slopes. As the hot summer begins, following the white calla lilies, the dreamlike hydrangeas arrive at Zhushanhu. The blooming season lasts until the end of June, attracting visitors to slow down and admire the uniquely sweet charm of the hydrangeas.

Lupine: Late May to late June (Fushoushan Farm)

Every year in May, the colorful lupines remaining in bloom at Fushoushan Farm draw many visitors to explore this beautiful garden. This year, due to climate changes, the lupine blooming season has been slightly delayed, starting only around late May. When the season arrives, the vibrant lupines dot the green mountain forests, interwoven with other varieties of flowers hidden within the blooms, creating a picturesque scene.

Lotus: June to late August (Baihe, Tainan and Guanyin, Taoyuan)

The lotus, “unstained by the mud it grows in,” carries an elegant and pristine charm, often serving as the star subject for photography enthusiasts. From June to August each year, the lotus blooming season begins. Baihe in Tainan features vast lotus ponds, where the sight of blossoms is truly spectacular. In northern Taiwan, Guanyin in Taoyuan is particularly noteworthy, with the district office even providing a lotus appreciation map for visitors to explore.
