A One-Day "Brick Love Tour": Experience the Century-Old Sanhe Tile Kiln Tradition in Dashu

The nearly century-old Sanhe Tile Kiln is part of Dashu District’s once-thriving tile kiln community in Kaohsiung. It produces bricks and tiles using traditional methods. In recent years, to promote this ancient industry, the Kaohsiung City Government Agriculture Bureau will hold the Dashu "Brick Love Tour" one-day trip on August 3 and 4.

To continue Taiwan’s traditional kiln industry, the Kaohsiung City Government Agriculture Bureau is hosting the "Brick Love Tour" on August 3 and 4, in collaboration with local century-old kilns rich in cultural heritage. The event features a tour combining local traditional industries, culture, and historic sites, including the Old Iron Bridge Wetlands Park, a DIY brick heart ornament session at Sanhe Tile Kiln, a brick heart token exchange ceremony, the 1300 White Porcelain Art Center, the Yuwang Market for industrial promotion, farmer-style meals, ecological trails, and a charcoal kiln.

The "Brick Love Tour" is divided into two sessions, each accompanied by guides and team leaders. After visiting the historic traditional tile kiln, participants can also make their own personalized brick ornaments. Couples attending together will receive a special small gift and a custom-made Dragon Eye Well brick-carved coaster to take home.
