A Leisurely Summer Night Cruise on the Tamsui River – Embark on a "Blue Highway" Mini Adventure

Taipei City’s Tamsui River Blue Highway night cruise has launched the “Summer Evening Breeze Night Cruise Flight.” The public can take a boat ride along the Tamsui River at night to admire the illuminated bridges, with the itinerary starting from Dadaocheng Wharf, passing through the Guandu Bridge before turning back. Throughout the journey, guides will explain the unique features of the Blue Highway night cruise. The entire trip lasts about two hours, and passengers are allowed to bring their own food onboard.

The Taipei City Department of Rapid Transit Systems stated that after the official inaugural cruise at 7 PM on the 26th, the night cruise flights will operate regularly every Friday and Saturday evening. The itinerary departs from Dadaocheng Wharf and sails downstream along the Tamsui River, passing by notable illuminated bridges such as Taipei Bridge, Chongyang Bridge, and Guandu Bridge.

In addition to the night cruise flights, the Department of Rapid Transit Systems’ “Blue Highway Mini Adventure” includes seven packaged tour options. One such option is the “Premium Passenger Ship Afternoon Flight” package, which departs every Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM. Passengers board at Guandu Wharf, sailing past the Tamsui River’s mangrove forests, Tamsui, Shizitou Island, and Chongyang Bridge before returning.

The Department of Rapid Transit Systems also noted that the annual “Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival” will kick off on August 10. Various operators have launched special fireworks cruises, departing from Tamsui Passenger Ferry Terminal, Guandu Wharf, and Bali Longxing Wharf. Prices range between NT$500 and NT$1,000. Those wishing to enjoy a river cruise with fireworks can book in advance.
