The Miaoli Ocean Tourism Festival kicks off on the 20th — four weeks of non-stop fun

The 2013 Miaoli Ocean Tourism Festival will launch on the 20th at Yuanhang Fishing Port, featuring performances by well-known singers over four consecutive weekends at Tongxian, Houlong, and Zhunan Fishing Ports. This year’s theme, “Summer Breeze, Amazing Miaoli,” combines local fishing village culture to deliver touching and amazing experiences on Miaoli’s summer seas. Visitors can exchange receipts from on-site purchases for souvenirs or post check-ins from two festival events on Facebook for a chance to win a pair of round-trip cruise tickets to Okinawa on Star Cruises.

The Miaoli Ocean Tourism Festival is a grand celebration of the area’s oceanic charm, blending local fishing village vibes, coastal beauty, music, and light shows. The first evening event will begin at 6 PM on the 20th at Yuanhang Fishing Port in Yuanli Township, featuring special performances by Wei-Li An, Tzu Hsuan Tseng, Wei-Feng Lee, Yan-Lin Tao, and the Youthful David Band. Over the course of four weeks, themed events include “Yuanhang Classic Breeze,” “Tongxiao Idol Breeze,” “Waipu Love Song Breeze,” and “Dragon & Phoenix Family Breeze,” offering a diverse lineup of songs to satisfy fans of all ages.

In addition to the concerts,On August 3rd at Waipu Fishing Port in Houlong Township, a water dance bridge will be set up and roses will be given out, accompanied by romantic live music from a saxophone and ukulele band to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Throughout the four-week Miaoli Tourism Festival, the organizers will also provide 2,500 free portions of zongzi and fish ball soup at each event.
