"Shuangqing" Shakes Up the Traditional Café — Pets Welcome to Join the "Adventure"

The couple behind "Shuangqing," Hong Ziqing and Xu Huiqing, resolutely broke away from the conventional pace of life and returned to Shalu in Taichung to open the café "Cheating Café." They also flipped the image of "regular cafés" that don’t welcome pets, hoping to allow pets inside under controlled circumstances,so that pets can come into the shop to join in on the "adventure." In the future, they not only plan to offer a "dog menu" but also want to host "pet parties" for everyone to enjoy together！

As you step into Cheating Café, the shop dog "Baozi" immediately runs up, wagging its tail happily to greet guests, completely unafraid of strangers. At 6 years old, it can instantly play with any new dog friend, and when it meets a female red toy poodle of the same breed, it even passionately tries to court her. Even if the other dog is indifferent, Baozi remains very enthusiastic, as if telling people,"If you want to pursue, just be brave and go for it!"

The reason the couple decided to allow pets in the café is that they hope customers can visit in a relaxed state of mind, so they also welcome those with cats or dogs to bring their furry companions along for fun. Of course, if they encounter customers who are afraid of dogs, the shop will temporarily "hide" Baozi to ensure the guests feel safe.

Cheating Café not only welcomes pets but also plans to introduce a "dog menu" in the future. Given that they have a picky-eating dog at home named "Xiaomi," they’re concerned that other furry friends might also turn up their noses like Xiaomi, so the menu is still in the research phase. Shop owner Xu Huiqing stated,“they hope to eventually offer simple yet healthy dog meals, with the key being to spark the dogs’ interest. Ingredients currently under consideration include brown rice, carrots, and chicken, mainly prepared by blanching.”

In addition, during the trial operation period, the shop also hosted a "Dog Day," where red toy poodles, French bulldogs, and dachshunds gathered, instantly livening up the entire café. Xu Huiqing said that now that the shop is officially open, "we plan to hold our first event as a red toy poodle gathering to see how the locals respond.Additionally, other dog breeds are also welcome to book the space for private parties because we are a pet-friendly café!"”
