Rescuing Stray Cats: A Café Transformed into a Feline Shelter

More than just a café ! Four kind-hearted women created the "Wildcats Halfway Café" to rescue and feed stray cats, providing them with a "cat halfway home" to shelter from wind and rain. Over a hundred cats have been adopted from the café so far, and the shop continues to promote the philosophy of "spaying/neutering instead of euthanasia, adoption instead of buying."

The "Wildcats Halfway Café" was opened by four animal-loving women: Xiao Miao, Xiao Ye, Chris, and Xiao Ying. United by their love for cats and unwillingness to see strays homeless, they dedicated themselves to cat rescue. They even opened a café to provide these animals with a warm halfway home, hoping to place them in caring hands.

The owners explained that all costs for rescuing, feeding, vaccinating, and even neutering/spaying the stray cats come out of their own pockets. For those interested in adoption, potential adopters are first allowed to interact with the cats, and their backgrounds are thoroughly vetted to ensure responsible placements. The café has refused random adoptions. Since opening over a year ago, they have continued to collaborate with animal protection groups, becoming a bridge between cats and adoptive families.

Currently, there are about 20 cats in the store. The owners say some are lively and extremely curious — one customer once had a cat lie right across their menu while ordering, which was utterly adorable. "Humans won’t starve, and the cats will have food," the owners said. The Wildcats Halfway Café will continue to serve as a warm waystation for stray cats.
