Exercise can improve your health, relieve stress, and boost your confidence. The “2013 Taipei Citizens’ Water Activity Experience,” to be held every Saturday and Sunday from August 10 to September 15 at the Keelung River water area of Dajia Riverside Park in Taipei City, offers the public free urban canoeing and banana boat rides. Additionally, September 1 has been designated as “Disadvantaged Groups Experience Day,” inviting various disadvantaged communities to enjoy a cool summer on the Keelung River and feel the positive energy of life through laughter.

The “2013 Taipei Citizens’ Water Activity Experience” schedules seven canoeing sessions and 21 banana boat sessions each day. Each canoeing session lasts one hour, while each banana boat ride is 20 minutes long. However, on September 1, Disadvantaged Groups Experience Day, if participants with mobility impairments attend, the canoeing session will be extended to two hours and the banana boat ride to 30 minutes. In addition, anyone who fills out an experience questionnaire on-site will receive a stylish sports bracelet.

Canoeing is often associated with moving forward bravely, health, and leisure, while banana boats evoke images of bright sunshine and joyful laughter. To ensure disadvantaged groups enjoy a healthy and fun summer, September 1 has been set as Disadvantaged Groups Experience Day. Individuals with disabilities holding disability certificates, their families, friends, and volunteer service members are all welcome to register. For inquiries, please call (02)8866-2558 ext. 14.

Except for Disadvantaged Groups Experience Day on September 1, all other sessions of the “2013 Taipei Citizens’ Water Activity Experience” require online registration, with sign-ups opening session by session. Currently, all sessions on August 10 and 11 are fully booked, some slots remain available for August 17 and 18, and registration for activities on August 24 and 25 opens on July 29.
