Step into a hidden paradise through the hydrangea corridor – the secret garden of Nanzhuang Mountain Café in the hills!

Every year from May, as spring transitions into summer, is the season for hydrangeas to bloom. Although Yangmingshan’s Zhuzihhu in northern Taiwan—the well-known hydrangea viewing spot—hasn’t yet reached its peak, the colorful hydrangeas in the garden of Nanzhuang Shanfurong Café, a hidden gem nestled in the mountains of Miaoli, have already eagerly burst into full bloom ahead of time. Just the welcoming avenue leading from the café entrance is adorned with pink, blue, and purple hydrangeas, and stepping into the garden is nothing short of a surprise paradise.

Located in Miaoli, Nanzhuang Shanfurong Café is not only tucked away in a secluded spot but is also only open on weekends and public holidays. Yet this tranquil mountain garden, like a hidden paradise, still attracts many visitors. In addition to growing a variety of plants and flowers, during the May hydrangea season, the café owners hold a Hydrangea Festival, adorning the garden with a rich array of colorful hydrangeas. Each delicate blossom thrives in every corner, and the garden’s landscape design has become a delightful spot for visitors to stroll and take photos, adding a touch of romantic poetry to late spring and early summer.
