More Real Than VR Training—Pikachu Joins the Fun!

Take photos with Pikachu and train with “Grass-type,” “Fire-type,” “Electric-type,” and “Water-type” Monster Masters! The Taiwanese edition of the 2018 Pokémon Carnival Fun Run will be held on January 13th next year at Sanchong Happiness Water Park in New Taipei City. The super-cute Pikachu running outfits and backpacks will make their first real-life appearance, along with the stunning metallic finish finisher medals! Licensed exclusively from Japan, the runner gifts include sweat-wicking Pokémon commemorative running shirts and a must-have backpack for Trainers—two eye-catching items. Unlike past Pokémon Fun Runs, along the route not only will many Pokémon cheer you on, but there will also be four giant inflatable obstacle courses themed around “Grass-type,” “Fire-type,” “Electric-type,” and “Water-type” to test your skills as a Pokémon Trainer. Getting through won’t be easy—you’ll need to demonstrate dodging, balancing, and climbing abilities. Want that finisher glory? Crawl, climb, and conquer to earn your title as a Pokémon Master!

After completing the 3-kilometer run, the grand Pokémon Carnival awaits you, featuring a specially designed “Pokémon Game Zone” with themed games including Pikachu, Squirtle, Gengar, and Flying Jump. Need an energy boost after finishing? The thoughtful “Energy Recharge Zone” offers adorable dessert and candy gashapon machines to soothe your soul. There’s also a DIY experience area loved by kids and fun photo booths to enjoy.

The biggest scream-worthy highlight? Super-cute Pikachu mascots from Japan are here to perform live!
