70 Chefs Cook on the Beach at Hawaii’s Food & Wine Festival in September

An international gathering of chefs will team up by the seaside to create top-tier dishes from around the world under the moonlight — an event usually seen only on TV will come to life on Hawaii’s beaches. On the evening of September 6, Hawaii’s “Under the Modern Moon” dinner event will feature 70 chefs of diverse East-West styles, including Taiwanese female chef “Lin Rong,” who will represent Taiwan and wow the world with her Eastern cuisine.

The “Under the Modern Moon” dinner is part of the third annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, drawing inspiration from Hawaii’s unique location at the crossroads of East and West. The event will showcase delicious dishes created on the beach for the public to enjoy. A total of 70 culinary masters — including 15 international chefs from Asia and the Pacific region, plus local Hawaiian chefs — will cook a series of gourmet feasts under the moonlight.

Chai Chaowasaree, Executive Chef of Hawaiian Airlines, said, “The Hawaii Food & Wine Festival” is a rare culinary celebration in the Pacific, featuring diverse cooking styles and fine wines. Food lovers from around the world will gather on the Hawaiian Islands to share the rich and varied flavors of Hawaii. In addition, Hawaiian Airlines has also invited Taiwanese female chef Lin Rong to participate, blending Asian culture into her dishes — something we’re very excited about.

The Hawaii Food & Wine Festival series of events will take place from September 1 to 9 in Hawaii, while the “Under the Modern Moon” dinner, sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, will be held on the evening of September 5 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets are $200 USD per person to enjoy a fusion of Hawaiian and global cuisine.
