How beautiful the butterflies are—butterflies, butterflies, so lovely indeed!

Following the Duck Park in Sanchong, New Taipei City Government has created another brand-new landscape art installation to give green spaces a fresh new look. At the Gravel Interception Waterfront Park, pedestrian pathways outline a butterfly-shaped landscape, crafting a fun and beautiful Butterfly Park. Located on the left bank of the Xindian River’s high alluvial plain, between Huacui Bridge and Guangfu Bridge, the park not only allows visitors to enjoy the sight of blooming grasses and flowers swaying in the wind, but also features an expansive sea of blossoms designed along the butterfly-shaped pathway that is truly captivating.

As visitors stroll through, they can take a closer look—each color is made up of different flowering plants, adorning the butterfly wings with a vibrant new outfit. These include Salvia splendens (red, purple, white, salmon/pink-orange), sage, marguerite, verbena, cosmos sulphureus, bachelor’s button, lover’s flower, marigold, red-leaf cockscomb, and summer pansy (blue-purple), among more than ten varieties of flowering plants totaling around 200,000 plants. Currently, the flowers are in full bloom, and in every upcoming season, New Taipei City will continue to enhance the greening and beautification of riverside areas, providing the public with even more comfortable and picturesque recreational environments.

Additionally, above the embankment next to the Butterfly Park, there is an observation platform that offers a panoramic view of the entire park, as well as the beautiful riverside landscapes on both sides of the Xindian River. Visitors are encouraged to walk up to the platform to enjoy the view from above and take in the vast sea of flowers. The New Taipei City Government reminds everyone: stay to admire the flowers, look but don’t touch—let’s all work together to protect every plant in the park, so this beautiful scenery can be preserved.

Enter via Section 4 of Inner Ring Road West (Jiangzicui Transverse Gate) → connect to the outer road (Guangfu Street) → pass under the Wanban Bridge and Huacui Bridge, and you’ll see the “Butterfly Park” located on the left side outside the embankment.
