Korea’s popular reality show "We Got Married" recently launched its "World Edition," starring Beast’s Yook Sungjae and Taiwanese actress Ghost (Wu Yingjie), which caused a huge sensation. In Episode 2, the newlyweds moved into a charming marital community — "We Got Married Village" — designed like a fairytale village. The area features rows of villas exuding elegant Southern European flair, all the more romantic under a blanket of pure white snow.

The newlyweds’ home prepared by the "We Got Married" production team for the "Kwanghee and Ghost Couple" is situated in Swiss Village, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Its English name is Edelweiss, also known as the alpine edelweiss (scientific name: Leontopodium alpinum), or little white flower. It commonly grows in the Alps and is not only a famous alpine plant in Europe but also the national flower of Switzerland and Austria.

Swiss Village is a large-scale resort recently developed in Korea. The entire area is themed around the classic Swiss fairy tale "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" (also known as "The Girl from the Alps"). It consists of 32 villas rich in Mediterranean flavor, where visitors can stay and experience Swiss culture in food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, and entertainment. You can enjoy the thrill of a European trip without leaving the country.

In addition to the architecture, the park also features many cultural symbols unique to Switzerland, such as street performers playing the alphorn, traditional cowbells used during festivals, statues of national hero William Tell and his son, as well as displays of traditional model trains. The newlyweds’ Room 15, where the Kwanghee and Ghost Couple stayed, requires walking up a winding mountain path before you see the butter-yellow villa that looks just like a milk carton. In the show, you can see large piano keys on the living room floor — when Ghost steps on them, they light up, delighting the couple and quickly making this one of the most sought-after villas for fans to book.

Although Swiss Village has only recently opened, it has gained widespread fame thanks to "We Got Married," becoming a must-visit destination for travelers from both home and abroad. It has also sparked a new wave of tourism in Korea. The only downside is that the park is not located in traffic-convenient Seoul — it takes nearly two hours of transfers to get there. Travelers eager to enjoy this sweet escape will have to endure some travel hardships first.
