Since the completion of Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, it has connected three luxury hotels into one complex. Suspended 200 meters above the ground with a 360-degree view, it is considered the best spot to take in the entire scenery of Singapore. It also features the world’s highest swimming pool, where swimming is especially exhilarating. On clear days, you can even see as far as Malaysia and Indonesia.

For those who chase luxury and love fashion, the Marina Bay Sands Shopping Mall (The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands), which houses over 300 premium shops and dining outlets, is like a playground. High-end boutiques and international avant-garde designer brands abound. Especially since its opening in September 2011, Louis Vuitton Island Maison has been dubbed a “waterborne palace” by LV fans. Spanning four floors with an area of 41,000 square meters, the entire structure resembles a “floating” crystal pavilion above the waters of Marina Bay. Designed by award-winning architect Peter Marino, it is the largest Louis Vuitton store outside of Paris and the first in Southeast Asia to infuse retail space with a strong artistic ambiance.

When visiting Marina Bay, there is another must-see cultural destination—the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. Opened just two years ago, it claims to be the world’s first museum that integrates art and science. Designed by internationally renowned architect Moshe Safdie, it resembles a blooming lotus and is situated above Marina Bay. Its exterior is made of specially crafted fiberglass, and its ten fingers of varying lengths serve as individual exhibition spaces. The exhibitions combine art and science, offering an eye-opening experience.

For travelers who love shopping, strolling, and “wandering the streets,” Marina Bay Sands offers another amazing experience—that is, taking a ride on a traditional Chinese wooden boat to go shopping. The mall features a uniquely designed waterway where visitors can take a sampan ride while shopping. As you cruise along the mall’s waterways and pass by the Rain Oculus, you can also see the wishing waterfall. This shopping journey is truly unique.

Liu Aili, Director of the China East China Region Office of the Singapore Tourism Board, said that in recent years, the influx of luxury brands, hotels, and large shopping malls into Singapore has injected entirely new tourism elements into the city.
