Teddy Bear Festival to be held in Taichung in November   Hundreds of lovable bears to appear in central Taiwan

With their fluffy bodies and round glass-ball-like eyes, teddy bears are adored by people of all ages. This wave of teddy bear fever is about to sweep through central Taiwan. The 2013 Taichung Happy Teddy Bear Festival will take place from November 28 until January 5 of next year (2014), featuring a series of events across multiple locations in Taichung City, including Qiuhong Valley, Caowu Dao, Art Garden Avenue, the Civic Plaza, and exhibition spaces inside Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. Over a hundred teddy bear collections from around the world will be displayed in Taiwan.

Initiated by the Taiwan Teddy Bear Association and regarded as one of the key events supported by the Taichung City Government in 2013, the “2013 Taichung Happy Teddy Bear Festival” will launch on November 28. In addition to showcasing a wide variety of teddy bears at the exposition, the association is also organizing an international teddy bear exhibition combined with a creative competition, inviting renowned artists from both domestic and international backgrounds to participate in cultural exchanges. Artists from 12 countries, including the United States, Germany, Russia, and Japan, have been invited to join in the festivities.

Furthermore, the international teddy bear exhibition will, for the first time, feature teddy bears preserved from World War II, giving the public a chance to see classic teddy bears with a history of over half a century.
