Lighthouses are must-visit spots when traveling anywhere, and Green Island is no exception.
Especially when you can take in the endless blue sea and sky—no matter how hot it is, you’ve got to go there.
Beneath the lighthouse is an o_ lake surrounded by reefs, where you can also take a dip in the water. It’s a romantic spot for stargazing at night. ♥

I’m back at the place where we used to stargaze at night.
The lighthouse may be a bit of a cliché spot, but it’s a cliché with plenty of charm.
The lighthouse and o_ lake were one of ourGreen Island working holidaybases back then.
Back then, I loved lying on the beach, watching the stars and the lighthouse standing guard through the night.
We kept them company until the sun woke up.

Even though it’s a revisit, we couldn’t miss this classic spot!!!!!!

Green Island Lighthouse isn’t open to visitors for entry—you can only view it from the outside. ((Mitte was lucky enough to have gone inside before??
But the moment you step onto the lawn, it’s really healing.
Even if all we can do is take photos with the lighthouse in the background, it’s totally worth it.

It’s actually 33.3 meters tall.
There’s a little shipwreck story behind Green Island Lighthouse, but it’s a heartwarming one—not a ghost story.
It’s about how the residents of Green Island helped rescue the SS President Hoover, which ran aground off the coast of Gongguan in 1937.
Later, the American Red Cross, grateful for the help from the people of Green Island, donated funds to build this lighthouse.

However, the lighthouse was later destroyed during World War II. The current Green Island Lighthouse was rebuilt in 1948.

The short white fences in the park look especially cute and delicate.

On a sunny day, no one can bear to put down their camera—everything looks stunning no matter how you shoot it.
My brother was busy quickly snapping photos of the lighthouse and the blue sky with his phone to share with Anda in the distance.

We played at stacking ourselves up against the lighthouse like "planking" ((dangerous move, do not try this at home)).
It felt like we were that much closer to the blue sky and the ocean,
but if you accidentally flip over, you’ll roll right down the hill UpXD.

Flip-flops are an absolute must when you come to Green Island!!!!!!
The white low railing next to the lighthouse has the vibe of the promotional photos from “You Are the Apple of My Eye,”
so let’s take a photo of “the flip-flops we wore back in those days.”

Next to the lighthouse is the airstrip, and if you’re lucky, you can even watch planes take off and land.
Back when I was working and vacationing on Green Island, I even walked my dog by the airport runway—that’s not an opportunity everyone gets, haha～

With the big sun shining and a gentle breeze blowing, look out toward o_ Lake, the sea, and the sky ahead,
all shades of blue, yet pieced together from different hues—a happiness that’s always present in life but often overlooked.

This is the beautiful o_ Lake, surrounded by rocky outcrops that form a natural small lake, with colors that differ from the open sea.
The water inside doesn’t flow much, is slightly warm, and a bit murky.

The water in o_ Lake isn’t very deep—if you don’t want to get wet, you can just roll up your pants and dip your feet in.
It’s also great for kids to play in the water—you don’t have to worry about drifting too far and not being able to swim back, there are fewer rocks, and it’s safer.
You can even play games like “mermaid tag” in the water—it never gets old.

Sun protection is definitely essential when you’re on Green Island—we had big sunglasses and sun hats, and even while playing in the water, we made sure not to get heatstroke.
See how fair-skinned our little O is? There’s a reason—he was totally covered up, how could he get tanned? XD

Doesn’t it look like a private open-air swimming pool!?
Even the adults had a blast here—it’s the perfect spot to just float around.

Splashing a bit of water while taking photos makes the images look even more refreshing.
I really love the fun vibe of taking photos like this.

The scorching hot sand makes the seawater even more tempting,
and when I glance at the flip-flops on the shore calling me, if it weren’t for all the other plans ahead, I’d really want to stay here forever.

That summer,
we were just immersed in that poetic world of blue sea and blue sky.

I really hope we can come back to Green Island every summer to soak up the energy and enjoy the love nature gives us.
Dear Green Island, please wait patiently for us to come back and see you again.
