Robot greets visitors   Haneda Airport to erect 20-meter "Gundam"

Gundam fans, rejoice！ Following the 18-meter-tall Gundam in Odaiba, Haneda Airport will feature a 20-meter-tall Gundam, allowing passengers to spot the giant robot waving from the sky even before landing.

In April last year, an 18-meter-tall "Mobile Suit Gundam" model was set up in front of the newly built Drive City Tokyo Plaza in Japan’s Odaiba, becoming not only a new landmark in the area but also a popular photo spot for tourists. With around 170,000 people using Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on average daily, where a plane takes off or lands every two minutes, the airport now plans to build a 20-meter-tall Gundam model on nearby land to replace the one in Odaiba. When planes take off or land, passengers will be able to see the Gundam “seeing them off and welcoming them.”
