The popularity of "Kimura's Avenue" affects residents; EVA Air serves tea under the iconic tree

Recently, actor Takeshi Kaneshiro shot an advertisement in the image of an "international traveler" for a well-known airline. In the footage, Kaneshiro is seen resting under a large tree on Heaven’s Road in Chishang Township, Taitung. Not only did this make Heaven’s Road popular again, but many people also came here to “find the tree.” Previously, there were reports that due to the overwhelming number of tourists, local residents were inconvenienced, and there was even talk of farmers wanting to cut the tree down. However, the airline announced today (27th) that starting now, it will serve tea to travelers under the iconic tree, hoping to contribute to preserving the scenic beauty.

Kaneshiro shot the image ad for EVA Air joining the Star Alliance, visiting Tokyo and Nara in Japan, Paris in France, and Taitung in Taiwan. Among the scenes in Taitung, there is a 15-second clip where Kaneshiro rides a bicycle through Heaven’s Road in Chishang Township, Taitung, and rests under a large tree enjoying tea. The beautiful imagery immediately sparked a trend of people seeking out the “Kaneshiro Avenue.” Travelers come here to ride bikes or imitate Kaneshiro by having tea and taking photos under the tree, making it one of the hottest attractions recently.

EVA Air expressed gratitude for the public’s enthusiastic response to the advertisement but deeply apologized for any inconvenience caused to Chishang residents. To advocate for cherishing the tranquility and beauty of Chishang, starting now, the airline will collaborate with Taitung County Government, Taiwan Good Foundation, and the local community in Chishang Township to provide tea service every Saturday, Sunday, and national holiday. Taitung County Government will also implement bicycle rental discounts and guided tour services.

Tea service is available every Saturday, Sunday, and national holiday. During summer vacation (July to August) and Lunar New Year (from Lunar New Year’s Day to the 15th), it will be provided daily. The tea service hours and guided tour schedules are as follows:
