Coming to the bank to eat braised snacks and ice cream—how fun is that?!

Gongyuan Eye Clinic is definitely a familiar name to many.
Coming to Taichung without having ice cream at the eye clinic just feels a bit off (lol).
Ever since Gongyuan Eye Clinic became famous,
you’d have to wait over half an hour just to get a bowl of shaved ice.
But now, there's no need to queue up at Gongyuan Eye Clinic—
they’ve recently opened a branch,
just two intersections away from the original one,
called the "Fourth Credit Cooperative,"
which is also a new attraction created by renovating an old building.
Coming to the bank to get a number and enjoy some shaved ice also has its own unique charm—haha~

Some might find old buildings a bit eerie,
but I personally love old buildings.
There’s a kind of unpretentious warmth to them,
that feeling of sitting inside, eating ice, and savoring those nostalgic flavors,
as if you’re visiting your grandmother’s house—relaxed and at ease.

The exterior seems to continue the previous look,
with the weathered feel of the outer walls giving off a sense of long history.
The rebirth of this historic building as part of the Sunrise series has once again caused a sensation,
creating a stir right after opening.

The Fourth Credit Cooperative is located at No. 72, Zhongshan Road.
Coming from the direction of the train station, note that it’s a one-way street,
so you’ll want to be a bit careful when approaching.

On the first floor, outside, they sell shaved ice and Fengren Ice,
with Fengren Ice priced at 150 NTD and fruit shaved ice at 450 NTD.
The fruits used are all fresh and in season.
I saw someone order mango shaved ice,
covered with heaps of fresh mangoes~
It made my mouth water just looking at it！

The main entrance is on the side,
Just follow the ants in—you can’t go wrong~~

Inside, there are old bank writing counters on display,
Back in the day, Gongyuan Eye Optometry was always packed,
but this time, the Fourth Credit Cooperative has plenty more seating areas,
and the second floor also has open seating,
so you can just find a spot and sit down.

The bank staff are all dressed as clowns serving food~ (lol)
And I’m stamping my souvenir here.

The wafer cones for the ice cream are all made on-site！
We could smell the rich aroma of pancakes even before we came in~~

There are hundreds of ice cream flavors here,
I was dizzy staring at the freezer, so hard to choose！

Let me show you the ice cream I had at Gongyuan Eye before,
Since it was too crowded this time, we didn’t get ice cream Up~
I found out the ice creams here are the same as the ones there,
I’ve attached a photo from last time for reference.
Doesn’t this photo look super generous!! (mouth watering)

For the ice, you choose how many scoops of ice cream you want,
and then you can pick three types of cookies, nuts, or fruits to add on,
plus there’s cheese cake and pineapple cake！So yummy！！

Such a rich variety of ice cream！~(licking lips)

After ordering, you pick up your ice cream at the counter,
and the counter is designed like a bank teller window~

We came on a weekday and it was already packed (sweating)
No seats on the first floor？Quick, head up to the second floor.

It turns out the second floor is a braised delicacies stall,
I’ve never seen such an elaborate braised delicacies setup before,
The counter lighting is so bright—it feels quite mysterious!

This place doesn’t go for the Harry Potter vibe like Gongyuan Eye,
Instead, it leans more into a luxurious, classical aesthetic—very showy!

Choose any three braised items for NT$200,
We ordered some dried tofu, kelp, and pig ears, plus one ten-treasure egg,
Aside from the ten-treasure egg, they also sell four-substance eggs and tea eggs here.

The dining space is much more spacious than Gongyuan Eye’s—and very comfortable too.

The corridor outside on the second floor is also a dining area.

The Fourth Credit Cooperative doesn’t have a souvenir shop,
It simply offers a space to enjoy shaved ice and braised snacks,
If you want to buy the Sunrise series pineapple cakes or sun cakes,
Just finish your treat and walk two blocks to Gongyuan Eye to shop!

The shop also displays old utensils from the past—you can check them out.
