Explore Taipei’s Urban Life with “Travel Together Taipei” – Experience the City in Height, Breadth, Depth, and Speed

The “Travel Together Taipei – Taipei Urban Life Guided Tour Program” has kicked off. From now until November 30, the Taipei City Government Department of Cultural Affairs invites the public to actively participate in “Travel Together Taipei.” The department stated that this year, local cultural and historical workers from all 12 administrative districts have been invited to join in the planning and guiding, offering a unique opportunity to experience Taipei’s urban charm through four dimensions: “height, breadth, depth, and speed.”

In terms of height, you can overlook the Taipei Basin from Taipei 101; in terms of breadth, you can experience the diverse characteristics of administrative districts shaped by multi-ethnic migrations across different time periods; in terms of depth, you can explore the city’s historical continuity and inherited spirit through prehistoric archaeological sites and both tangible and intangible cultural assets; and in terms of speed, you can feel the different rhythms of urban life through the city’s development—from waterways, railways, highways, and the MRT to the leisurely pace of cycling.

The Department of Cultural Affairs noted that the “Travel Together Taipei” routes include visits to historic sites, old trees, public art, and cultural venues, plus one workshop, totaling 120 tours across 12 administrative districts. There are also 18 themed routes with 97 tours in total, each blending knowledge and emotion. The department added that all participants will receive creative souvenirs, and those who visit city mailboxes in 12 cultural venues and collect all 12 QR codes will also be eligible for a limited-edition mug.

The Travel Together Taipei program will have three registration phases: registrations for September tours are open now; registrations for October tours begin on September 25; and registrations for November tours start on October 25. Each session has a limit of 40 people, and each participant is allowed to sign up for a maximum of two sessions per phase. Registration can be done via the Travel Together Taipei Lifestyle Network.
