Nestled within the Taroko National Park, home to breathtaking natural wonders, listening to a musical extravaganza amidst such scenery would be an experience like no other. The "2013 Taroko Canyon Music Festival" will take place on two consecutive Saturdays — September 28 and October 5 — at the Qingshui Cliffs and the Liwu River Valley near the Changchun Shrine.

Both the Taroko Canyon and the Qingshui Cliffs are among the most awe-inspiring landforms in Taroko National Park. The Qingshui Cliffs rise dramatically from the depths of the Pacific Ocean and are the only coastal area in the park. The majestic view where mountain meets sea never fails to take one's breath away. Meanwhile, the Taroko Canyon was carved through thick layers of marble by the Liwu River, a wonder of nature that continues to attract countless domestic and international visitors. Now in its 12th year, the Taroko Canyon Music Festival embraces the theme of "sitting in the canyon and listening to music," integrating live music with the park’s spectacular natural scenery to showcase the harmony between heavenly sounds and breathtaking views.

The Taroko Canyon Music Festival will feature performances by the String Beyond Ensemble. The first concert on September 28 at the Qingshui Cliffs will have the theme “Viva！Formosa！” On October 5, the Liwu River Valley near the Changchun Shrine will host two separate sessions themed “Attack from the East, Sound from the West” and “Tranquil Notes.” Visitors can enjoy the music while taking in the ever-changing beauty of Taroko across the hours of the day.
