Magic shows, balloons, cotton candy — a party on the blue highway at sea

The Blue Highway micro-tour just got bigger! Starting in September, Taipei’s Blue Highway offers more than just river cruises and scenic views — it now features autumn-themed party cruises with interactive magic shows, shaped balloons, and nostalgic cotton candy. Passengers on these seasonal cruises will also receive one of 1,000 limited-edition cute animal magnets. To coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, ferry rides from Guandu Pier during the holiday period are only NT$55.

The Taipei City Department of Transportation said that the current “Premium Passenger Ship Afternoon Cruise” departing from Guandu Pier will now include magic performances, while the “Guandu Eco-Walk” cruise will come with a complimentary nostalgic sweet cotton candy. Meanwhile, the “Summer Night Breeze Night Cruise” at Dadaocheng Pier will feature balloon artists who provide live demonstrations and make various adorable cartoon-shaped balloons. Starting now, passengers will also receive a game-version Blue Highway leaflet to help them learn more about Taipei through fun activities.

The magic party afternoon cruises will depart from Guandu Pier at 2:00 PM on September 7 and 8, with tickets priced at NT$500. The eco-walk cruises with cotton candy will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM daily during the Mid-Autumn holiday (September 19–22), departing from Guandu Pier for just NT$55. The balloon night cruises will set sail from Dadaocheng Pier at 7:00 PM on September 13, 14, 27, and 28, with tickets priced at NT$290.

The Department of Transportation stated that there are approximately 60 spots available for the afternoon cruises and 150 for the night cruises. Passengers are advised to make reservations in advance. The original four types of Blue Highway cruises remain unaffected in terms of schedule and itinerary, and the public is encouraged to make use of them.
