"The General Chef" Hidden Scenic Spot Unveiled Again: The Beautiful Lake and Mountain Views of Shuanglianpi in Yilan

The movie "The General Chef" has achieved impressive box office success, and scenes from the film have become hot spots for fans to visit. Many people discovered that the beautiful scenery shown at the beginning and end of the movie is located at "Shuanglianpi" in Yuanshan Township, Yilan. This has been confirmed by the Shuanglianpi Nature Experience School. The area’s unique cedar forest and picturesque lake and mountain views resemble a beautiful landscape painting, making it truly enchanting.

In "The General Chef," the forest path that Little Hu and Little Lion take while going to cater an event features a backdrop of a vast cedar forest — which is actually located at Shuanglianpi. This large expanse of cedar trees is part of the area’s unique Japanese cedar forest. The film crew came here to shoot in February this year and rented resting facilities from the Shuanglianpi Nature Experience School. The actual filming location was on the lakeshore opposite the nature experience school.

Shuanglianpi sits at an altitude of about 500 meters and is usually rarely visited. It gets its name because two large and small ponds are connected here. The lake water is clear spring water naturally flowing from mountain streams and underground sources. Surrounded by unpolluted areas, the lake surface is covered with various aquatic plants, which float and drift across the water as the seasons change, creating a unique landscape. Shuanglianpi has now been designated as a natural ecological education center.

Thanks to its stunning scenery, in recent years many commercials have been filmed at Shuanglianpi. Movies such as "The Straw Man" and "Days to See the Sea" were also shot here. Nowadays, visitors to Shuanglianpi can not only enjoy the natural scenery but also go cycling around the lake. With minimal light pollution nearby, it's also a great spot for stargazing at night.
