Taichung’s Instagram-popular “Creme Brulee” also comes with a latte in a bowl!

The IG pudding can really be said to be the hottest dessert recently!

From Taipei to Taichung, from Taichung to Tainan, I don’t even know where this wildfire of popularity started?! XD All I know is, I can’t get enough of this old-school style pudding, so I quietly jotted down a few dessert shops in Taichung that “sell pudding,” and recently I’ve finally tried two of the ones I most wanted to visit: one is “DM Cafe,” and the other is “For the Lonely Bookstore” in Audit Village. The puddings at these two places taste a bit different, but both are delicious.And the atmosphere of the space is something I really love—those who like it can take notes :)

Actually, this “DM Cafe” is a fairly well-known coffee shop in central Taiwan, known to many coffee lovers.One reason is that the young owner really knows coffee and is very friendly. Even though it was our first time there, it felt like we’d known each other for ages... Not to mention the several groups of customers who came in that day, many of whom seemed like old friends, chatting with the owner about coffee and discussing how to brew it. It’s a place coffee lovers will enjoy :)

The space at “DM Cafe” is not big—I think the first floor can probably fit only about ten people at most, but there seems to be more room upstairs :) What impressed me a lot was that the coffee here is all under a hundred NT dollars!“IG Pudding” is also one of the more affordable options among the recently popular puddings~~~ The simple menu on the wall is quite amusing, with options like sour coffee, not sour coffee, or if you still prefer a latte or cappuccino, the first glance at the categories lets the owner know your taste right away XD

Before coming to “DM Cafe,” I did a little online research... Because I did my homework, I knew the shop’s “IG Pudding” must be reserved in advance, as all are handmade daily, so there aren’t many available.Luckily, there’s no limit on how many you can order. XD After deciding on other drinks, we just told the young owner verbally. With a great memory, he noted down our orders and went back to the bar to brew the coffee. Nearby regulars and familiar faces all watched the owner’s every move as if they were watching a tutorial video. Watching the owner’s calm and confident demeanor was super impressive.

My first pick was "DM Cafe"—not just for that IG-worthy pudding, but also for their "ice corner coffee." I spotted it on IG and immediately jotted this place down—~ ~ ~ that bowl, which looks like soy milk, holds melting coffee ice cubes. It got my inner foodie all excited. So cool, that bowl XD

#DM Ice Corner Coffee 90 yuan

Changing the cup really makes a difference in feeling. A big bowl of “DM Ice Corner Coffee” just feels so bold and hearty. XD It instantly brought out my inner fake Text youth spirit. The young owner, who is also the barista, is really professional and even gives little introductions when serving dishes. I really like that. For example, this ice corner coffee is great for people who already enjoy drinking lattes.In a large bowl of fresh milk, there is a coffee ice brick made from Espresso ...

The coffee ice brick melts slowly in the fresh milk, like a watercolor brush, gradually creating rings of brown gradient — it’s beautiful and comforting. As the ice brick melts, the milk flavor becomes richer with the aroma of coffee. Recommended for latte lovers to try this bowl.

Come on, come on, let’s hunt down the “Instagram puddings” on the IG board—this one is the first one we chased down together. ^~^ As they say, the first time is always the most beautiful, and the pudding from “DM Cafe” is steamed, according to the owner. That’s why there are little air holes on top... this reminded me suddenly of a very youthful quote: life should be like a tea egg—perfect with cracks.

The little happiness pudding at “DM Cafe” is truly memorable... because the sweetness of the caramel is pure and genuine. The owner mentioned that even the caramel is made in-house.The little black dots on top of the pudding are vanilla seeds. A gentle scoop with a small spoon reveals an incredibly soft, silky pudding with an enchanting aroma.In the end, I even drank up the caramel sauce in the small plate. XDXD

#Herbal Tea 70 yuan

That day, my friend ordered a cold herbal tea. The owner said there were two types to choose from (one with more floral notes, the other more sour, I think). XD When ordering, I picked the one with more floral notes for her. The herbal tea that came looked simple, nothing too colorful. It had a lovely floral aroma without being overpoweringly strong. Sitting at what looked like an elementary school desk with wooden chairs, basking in the afternoon sunlight... we breathed in the coffee aroma and chatted about the new things we discovered on Instagram. Us food lovers explored this beautiful world at our own pace.

This area is near National Taichung University of Education. We accidentally went the wrong way... so we had parked the car earlier on the other side of the road. Before heading to “DM Cafe,” the temperature was just right, and the sunlight was pleasant:) Actually, taking a walk like this once in a while is really nice, allowing you to slow down, rediscover the daily things you might overlook, and also have a good chat with the people around you~
