Symphony leaps on the lake surface – Sun Moon Lake Carnival is set to begin

The annual Sun Moon Lake International Fireworks & Music Carnival is coming. This event combines music, fireworks, orienteering, group weddings, hiking, cruise trains, black tea culture season, Taomi butterfly foraging creative cuisine, and the 2013 Taiwan Cycling Festival, featuring a rich array of elements. The 8 events include 6 concerts as well as a group wedding in Nantou County and the 2013 Taiwan Cycling Festival – Sun Moon Lake Come！Bikeday cycling activity, which will kick off on October 5.

The Sun Moon Lake Fireworks & Music Carnival will open with The North Face Wilderness Music & Fireworks Festival on October 5. During the day, ultra-marathon runner Chen Yanbo will lead 600 participants on an outdoor adventure, freely exploring the beauty of Sun Moon Lake on foot; in the evening, a pop music concert will follow, featuring performances by artists such as MATZKA, Lilvin Lee, Kung Li-Chi, Wang Hong-en, Jia Jia, and Bear Baby Band, whose powerful vocals will resonate beautifully with the landscape.

The Fireworks & Music Carnival offers a diverse musical feast including pop, classical, and opera. After the concerts, another performance will take place on October 12 at the Shuixian Zhongxing Parking Lot, featuring popular songs adapted from the Broadway musical "The Phantom of the Opera" as well as symphonic works by classical masters such as Wagner and Tchaikovsky. On October 13, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra’s Wind Orchestra will continue the festivities at the same venue with a grand “National Day Tribute Concert.” All concerts will be accompanied by lakeside fireworks displays.

In addition to evening concerts, daytime Sun Moon Lake also brims with cultural vibrancy. On October 19, the Hsinchu Symphony Wind Orchestra will join award-winning vocalist Yin Zhengyang to perform “Glory of the Oscars” at the Xiangshan Visitor Center. On October 26, the “Autumn Melody ‘Voice & Song’ – Piano Quintet” will present melodious tunes at the paper church in Puli. Then on November 2, the “Forest Music & Dance Concert” will be held at the Jiji Tourism Service Center, allowing visitors to enjoy performances while exploring the diverse scenery of surrounding towns and villages.
