Where to enjoy the moon this Mid-Autumn Festival? Riverside parks are the most romantic choice

"When will the moon be clear and bright? With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky." The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, and you still haven’t decided where to admire the moon? The Taipei City Water Resources Department suggests that the public can head to various riverside parks across Taipei to enjoy the moon. Among them, the areas around the Rainbow Bridge at Chengmei Left and Right Bank Riverside Parks feature installations such as lover’s pathways, love seats, and wooden decks, all complemented by dazzling lighting, creating a truly “romantic vibe.” It’s worth a try — not only can you admire the moon, but also soak in a romantic atmosphere.

The Water Resources Department stated that the various riverside parks are spacious and close to the city center, allowing the public to enjoy mooncakes, pomelos, and the moonlight without having to trek up the mountains and deal with crowds. Couples can opt for the area around the Rainbow Bridge at Chengmei Riverside Park, which is a romantic spot for moon viewing. Parents can take their children to Dajia Riverside Park, which has a children's play area, and from which they can enjoy views of the Grand Hotel and the Dazhi Bridge by looking left and right respectively.

In addition to moon viewing, Guting Riverside Park also offers a sea of golden cosmos flowers bathed in the evening glow if visited in the late afternoon. Visitors can also go to Yanping Riverside Park to admire the moon alongside the ancient Tangshan sailing ships by the Dadaocheng Wharf. Shetou Park on Shilin Island, set against the backdrop of Guanyin Mountain and the Guandu Bridge, is also a highly atmospheric spot for moon gazing.

Other recommended riverside parks suitable for moon viewing by the Water Resources Department include Guanshan Riverside Park, Meidi Riverside Park, Machangding Memorial Park, and Daonan Riverside Park. The public can visit these spots to experience them firsthand.
