The Yellow Rubber Duck "Enters the Harbor from the Sky" – 20,000 LED Lights Illuminate Kaohsiung’s Night Sky

The Yellow Rubber Duck won’t officially enter the harbor until the 19th, but its glow is already lighting up Kaohsiung’s night sky. A high-end department store in Kaohsiung has created a nighttime LED light show featuring the Yellow Rubber Duck using 20,000 bulbs. At nightfall, the giant duck appears to swim directly into the city from the sky, and passersby watching the duck “enter” Kaohsiung can’t help but exclaim, “It’s really so cute!”

The Yellow Rubber Duck LED nighttime light show, created with 20,000 bulbs, is displayed daily after dark at the Eslite Spectrum Department Store in Kaohsiung as part of the “Yellow Tide Light Show.” The roughly three-minute light show depicts the duck swimming into the harbor, bobbing gently on the sea surface, and concludes with the words “Rubber Duck Welcome to Kaohsiung” in yellow and white letters, showing the warm welcome from the local hosts.
