New Highlight for Moon Gazing this Mid-Autumn: Night Lighting Scenery Added at Kaohsiung’s Tianliao Hell Valley

Where to go for moon gazing this Mid-Autumn? To offer residents more moon-viewing options, the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has specially added night lighting scenery at the Tianliao Hell Valley Geopark. The rugged mudstone terrain blends with creative and playful lighting elements, creating another kind of enchanting beauty through light and shadow.

Even if Typhoon Usagi disrupts the Mid-Autumn festivities in Taiwan, there is still hope for clear skies and a full moon in the south. To provide the public with a new high-quality moon-gazing spot while also promoting the unique badland landscape of Tianliao Hell Valley, the tourism bureau has been carrying out a series of scenic area renovation projects locally. The most distinctive feature is at the entrance of the landscape trail, where 3D floral sculptures and various themed plants have been created for visitors, along with shrub-based floral arrangements. Special materials combined with strategic lighting enhance the nighttime ambiance at the entrance of Hell Valley. With these vibrant and colorful floral designs, visitors are led into the scenic area, echoing the dramatic badland terrain within and creating a new highlight for tourism and leisure.

In addition, the popular Shoushan Lover’s Viewpoint, well-received by both locals and tourists, has completed its greening improvements and reopened during the Mid-Autumn holiday period. The park has specially laid stone-paved pathways, and plants have been arranged around the “LOVE” sculpture to form a heart shape, significantly beautifying the overall environment and making it one of the most romantic spots for moon viewing.
