News Flash / Yellow Rubber Duck Lands in Kaohsiung — Hofmann Joins It “in the Water”

Asia’s largest yellow rubber duck has finally arrived in Kaohsiung, and currently the Glory Pier in Kaohsiung is crowded with visitors coming to “duck watching.” Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu and designer Hofmann were also on site to watch the duck enter the harbor. Hofmann stated that this yellow duck, the largest in Asia and the second largest in the world, is being exhibited in Taiwan with the hope of bringing more laughter and an atmosphere of peace to people. As for the many questions about whether the duck is afraid of typhoons, Hofmann laughed and said, “I hope those who come to see the duck will blow the typhoon away quickly.”

Chen Chu said that this time the yellow rubber duck was able to come to Kaohsiung because the Kaohsiung team specially went to Hong Kong to share photos of the Kaohsiung harbor and city with Hofmann, which deeply moved him and made the duck’s visit to Taiwan possible. The yellow rubber duck will be on display from September 19 to October 20 at Glory Pier. With a height of 18 meters and a width of 25 meters, the yellow duck is expected to attract 3 million visitors during the official exhibition period, generating over NT$1 billion in related economic benefits.
