Selling out fast！Limited-edition yellow duck plush toy in Kaohsiung commemorative design sold out

Even though today is a weekday, tens of thousands of people flocked to Kaohsiung’s Glory Pier early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the yellow duck. Long queues formed at the stalls selling duck-themed merchandise, and the limited-edition 18,000-piece yellow duck plush toy in the Kaohsiung commemorative design has been declared sold out. Other officially licensed merchandise, including T-shirts, brooches, towels, and the currently popular washi tape, are not yet sold out.

According to a report by the Central News Agency, long lines formed in front of the Glory Pier duck stalls as people scrambled to buy certified yellow ducks. Huang, a grandmother from Tainan, brought her 5-year-old granddaughter to see the duck and waited in line for a long time before finally purchasing four limited-edition ducks. Certified merchandise is sold inside the venue, while unofficial “duck vendors” outside offer various sizes of ducks at much lower prices, including duck-shaped flower pots and planters.

The yellow duck attracted over 200,000 visitors on its first day on display, also drawing attention from international media such as the Associated Press, putting Kaohsiung on the global stage. The Kaohsiung City Government estimates that approximately 350,000 people have visited Glory Pier to see the duck as of yesterday.
