Explore the Alishan trails in the areca grove: the "Longmei Scenic Trail"

The Alishan National Scenic Area has recently completed the new "Longmei Scenic Trail" at the 47.5K mark on Alishan Highway. Featuring natural granite slab pathways and wooden boardwalks, the trail highlights the colors of untouched stone and the essence of nature, becoming a new attraction for exploring Alishan.

The "Longmei Scenic Trail" is a newly built circular trail. The area was previously covered with tea plantations and areca trees. To connect trails such as those to Goat Rock and Chinaberry Head, and to create a future highway garden, the Alishan Management Office has breathed new life into the Longmei area, developing it into an important ecological and tourism resource.

The trail is approximately 874 meters long. It begins at a platform paved with granite, and as you walk uphill along the path, you’ll enter a cypress forest for a forest bathing experience. White tung flowers dot the cypress woods, allowing you to enjoy the forest scenery gifted by nature while breathing in the fresh phytoncides. The highlight of the Longmei Trail is the gradually widening scenic viewing platform. Along the roughly 30-minute hike, there are two rest areas where visitors can take a short break before continuing to explore the hidden gems of Alishan.
