Miaoli International Arts Festival: Rock Legend Wu Bai Meets Legendary Tenor Russell Watson

Rock meets opera tenor voice – the Miaoli International Arts Festival kicks off on October 26. This year’s event features rock legend Wu Bai and his band China Blue, as well as one of the world’s three greatest tenors, Russell Watson, taking turns to perform. The public can enjoy two completely different musical styles in one festival. The county government said that anyone presenting five receipts from purchases made in Miaoli during September and October can exchange them for one free ticket.

The “Cross-Genre Legends Concert” of the arts festival will be held on October 26 and 27 at the County Stadium. On the 26th, Wu Bai and China Blue will perform first, followed by Russell Watson on the 27th. The county government noted that Wu Bai will present highlights from the most iconic performances of his band’s 20-year history during the “Big Thanks Live” tour, along with newly arranged songs. Meanwhile, British “legendary voice” Russell Watson, renowned for his exceptional vocal talent, is also not to be missed.

Starting at 8 a.m. on the 12th and 13th, the public can collect concert tickets at the west gate of the Dome Stadium. Five receipts from purchases made in September and October can be exchanged for one ticket, with a limit of four tickets per person. Additionally, from now until the 25th, those staying at legally operated accommodations in the county who spend over NT$2,000 and present their receipts can exchange for one entry ticket at the Miaoli County Tourism Service Center. Those staying during the event days on the 26th and 27th will also receive one free ticket per person.

The county government also reminds the public that the concert venue will open for entry at 5:30 p.m. Traffic control will be in place around the stadium from noon to midnight on both event days. The public can use the free shuttle buses provided, with pick-up locations at Miaoli Railway Station, the County Government, Miaoli Special Education School, and Guishan Bridge. Shuttle services will run from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the day of the event.
