Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Thick fresh milk with brown sugar boba is the ultimate combo. Recently, bubble tea shops have been riding a wave of brown sugar pearl fresh milk trends. Stores like Taichung’s Tiger Sugar, known for its brown sugar specialties, and Tainan’s Dongzhou Brown Sugar Milk Shop have been trending big on Instagram. Now, Nado, a celebrity, has launched his own bubble tea brand “Liang Chen Ji Shi,” which recently introduced the super indulgent “Bubbly Brown Sugar Thick Fresh Milk,” sparking another Instagram photo and check-in craze.
Liang Chen Ji Shi’s Bubbly Brown Sugar Thick Fresh Milk is made with hand-roasted traditional brown sugar and uses fragrant, fruity fresh milk. A thick layer of milk foam is poured on top, then sprinkled with brown sugar powder to elevate the classic brown sugar pearl fresh milk, making it look even more irresistible. Those who’ve tried it recommend sipping the top layer first, then the bottom, stirring it all together, and drinking again.
Another recently viral bubble tea shop is “Tiger Sugar,” located in Taichung. It officially opened in November and quickly became the new king of bubble tea, stealing the spotlight from other spots in Qingshui and Tea Wind in Taichung. Tiger Sugar’s brown sugar is freshly roasted daily. The freshly cooked hot boba, when shaken and mixed with ice-cold Fulu fresh milk, becomes delightfully chewy. A cup costs just NT$50, and you can add a topping of creamy “thick fresh milk” for free. The red bean series with boba is also no extra charge. The shop even has a playful rule: for cold boba drinks, customers must shake the cup 15 times before drinking to maximize enjoyment.
