Mainland budget carrier Spring Airlines makes inaugural Shanghai–Kaohsiung flight on the 27th; round-trip fare with taxes under 8,000

The mainland budget carrier “Spring Airlines,” which had long been rumored to be entering the Taiwanese market, has finally made a move. The airline officially announced on its website the inaugural flight from “Shanghai to Kaohsiung” on October 27, with a one-way fare of 430 RMB (approximately 2,100 NTD).

According to information on the “Spring Airlines” website, the “Shanghai–Kaohsiung” route will begin service on October 27. The flight departs Shanghai at 12:20 and arrives in Kaohsiung at 14:30, then departs Kaohsiung at 15:30 and arrives back in Shanghai at 17:40. Flights between “Shanghai and Kaohsiung” will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Regarding ticket prices, “Spring Airlines” is heavily promoting the “Shanghai–Kaohsiung” route at just 430 RMB, which is the price for the special fare class. These tickets are non-refundable, non-changeable, and not guaranteed to be available. Including airport fees, fuel surcharges, and other charges, the total calculated by the official website comes to 1,540 RMB (approximately over 7,500 NTD). As for the standard fare class, the price is 630 RMB.

In addition to “Spring Airlines,” another mainland budget carrier, “Juneyao Airlines,” although it has not yet announced a date for flights to Taiwan, has also begun promoting the upcoming launch of the “Shanghai–Kaohsiung” route.
