High-Speed Rail & Tour Buses Team Up: 34 Travel Routes with 20% Discount

Taiwan High-Speed Rail announced today (19th) that it has partnered with Taiwan Tourist Bus to jointly launch the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail + Taiwan Tourist Bus” joint ticket. By purchasing any of the 34 specified travel routes on the “Taiwan Tourist Bus” website, customers can also add the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail + Taiwan Tourist Bus” joint ticket for an 20% discount on the standard-class reserved seat fare of the high-speed rail.

The “Taiwan Tourist Bus” and high-speed rail have collaborated to launch the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail + Taiwan Tourist Bus” joint ticket, featuring 8 travel agencies and 34 carefully selected routes. In addition to enjoying a 20% discount on the standard-class reserved seat fare of the high-speed rail, customers can also get a 20% discount on the travel route itself on weekdays before February 28. The public is encouraged to seize the opportunity and plan their trips early.

Chen Hsin-hsiung, Associate Manager of Taiwan High-Speed Rail’s Business Office, stated that the high-speed rail offers 11 types of “Transportation Joint Tickets,” including the “High-Speed Rail + Transportation Tickets,” as well as “Hotel Joint Tickets” in collaboration with over 150 hotel partners under the “High-Speed Rail + Hotel Accommodation” scheme. There are also nearly 170 “High-Speed Rail Holidays” travel routes in partnership with travel agencies. This new collaboration with tourist buses aims to expand the customer base for both parties, creating a synergy where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and to complete the final piece of the puzzle for high-speed rail transportation services.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Tourism Bureau oversees 24 travel agencies that operate 100 “Taiwan Tourist Bus” packaged tour routes, offering thoughtful services such as multilingual (Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean) audio guides and onboard Wi-Fi.

Taiwan High-Speed Rail stated that by purchasing the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail + Taiwan Tourist Bus” joint ticket, travelers not only don’t have to worry about arranging their itinerary and transportation, but they can also significantly reduce travel time. After arriving at their scheduled station via the fast and comfortable high-speed rail, they can easily embark on the thoughtfully planned routes offered by “Taiwan Tourist Bus,” experiencing the wonderful journey of “speed and leisure.”
