Traffic control during the snow season on Hehuan Mountain to begin December 30

To ensure the safety of tourists visiting Hehuan Mountain for snow viewing and to prevent traffic accidents and incidents, Hehuan Mountain will implement traffic management and control measures every weekend holiday, during the New Year’s Day holiday, Lunar New Year holiday, and Peace Memorial Day holiday from December 30 until February 28 of the following year. The controlled sections include the section from Dayuling along Provincial Highway 14A to the Hehuan Mountain Visitor Center, as well as from Cuifeng to the Hehuan Mountain Visitor Center. Tourists are urged to take note.

The Ren'ai Police Precinct stated that during the traffic control period, if snowfall or snow accumulation occurs, traffic control will be enforced; if there is no snowfall or accumulation, traffic guidance will be implemented. In the event of icy or snowy road surfaces, the relevant traffic control information issued by the highway authority will take precedence. Except for official vehicles and snowplows, all types of vehicles are prohibited from entering. Additionally, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM the next day, depending on actual conditions, the controlled sections may be preemptively closed. Related updates will be confirmed before 3:00 PM each day.

However, such beauty often comes with risks. Therefore, tourists are urged to pay close attention to snow season traffic control information and assess both their vehicle condition and physical health before heading to Hehuan Mountain for snow viewing. Be sure to bring adequate warm clothing and get sufficient rest to avoid accidents. Tourists are also encouraged to help preserve the alpine environment during the snow season by taking all trash off the mountain and together create a more beautiful mountain landscape.
