Taiwan’s Eco Film Tour Kicks Off, Aiming to Raise Public Awareness of Nature Conservation

To promote public awareness of global warming and ecological conservation, the Forestry Bureau under the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, is hosting the “2013 Eco Film Festival: Showcasing (and Cherishing) Taiwan,” a nationwide film tour. From the 5th to November 30, over 30 captivating eco-themed films will be shown at cultural centers, libraries, airports, national forest recreation areas managed by the Forestry Bureau, ecological education centers, and forestry cultural parks across various counties and cities.

Following the premiere, the event moves into its second phase—a nationwide touring exhibition. The 30 films feature diverse themes and subjects, covering natural environments, forests, aquatic ecosystems, species, and habitats, showcasing the beauty of ecological conservation and humanistic care across Taiwan. The touring film festival will be held in 19 counties and cities including Taipei, Yilan, and Hsinchu. Interested members of the public can choose their preferred screening location. Registration is available both online and on-site, but those who book online must check in at the venue 10 minutes before the screening. Those unable to attend must cancel in advance via email.
