Nezha Causes Havoc at Halloween? Go Treasure Hunting in Tainan Chengda Commercial District

Tainan’s emerging Chengda Commercial District has launched a series of “Nezha Causes Havoc at Halloween” carnival events, inviting businesses and locals to join in COSPLAY. This year, for the first time, 3D street art has been introduced to enhance the visual appeal of the district. On October 27, participating shops will collaborate on activities such as a ghost parade, store treasure hunts, and a short film premiere. In the evening, there will be a major rock concert and dance performances to ensure everyone has an unforgettable Halloween.

Now in its second year, Chengda Commercial District, following last year’s well-received COSPLAY Halloween event, has come up with a “East-meets-West” Halloween party this year. By combining Eastern deities with Western spooky elements, it aims to capture public attention. The district is also emphasizing a creative cultural style, offering holiday-themed creative markets and store treasure hunts, along with showcasing nearly a hundred vintage BMW, BENZ, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The Tainan City Economic Development Bureau stated that compared to other commercial districts in the city, Chengda is relatively “young.” Therefore, starting last year, it has promoted the area through COSPLAY, which is highly popular among young people. A preliminary cosplay competition was held on the 12th, featuring people dressed as characters from the cartoon One Piece, as well as a little girl dressed as the adorable Snow White. The finals will take place on Halloween, October 27.

In addition to the ghost parade on Halloween, there will also be a movie premiere where the public can pause to appreciate the artistic charm of Chengda Commercial District.
