Step into the Avatar Pandora Planet – Disney’s “Avatar” Theme Park to Open in 2017

With their blue skin and long tails, the characters from *Avatar*, which surpassed *Titanic* to become the highest-grossing film in history, remain vivid in fans’ memories even years later, and the magical world of Pandora continues to captivate audiences. Recently, Disney announced that to allow visitors to experience the real-life essence of Pandora, the world’s first “Avatar Theme Park” will open in 2017.

According to a report by CNN (Cable News Network), Disney in the United States announced back in 2011 its plan to build a theme park based on *Avatar*, selecting Disney’s Animal Kingdom within the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida as its location. Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, recently revealed during a visit to Tokyo Disneyland that the park will bring to life the breathtaking mountain ranges, towering trees, and dense jungles of Pandora, as well as the goddess Eywa worshipped by the Na’vi, allowing visitors to step into the “Avatar civilization” just as if they had landed on Pandora.

James Cameron, the writer and director of *Avatar*, also stated, “When I walked into the park, I felt as though I had entered the world of Pandora, which convinces me that we can successfully bring the world of *Avatar* to life here many years later.” He strongly endorsed Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the perfect place to experience the world of *Avatar*.
