Ximending Goes Haunted – First Ever Outdoor Haunted House to Scare You Silly

What’s haunting Ximending? To celebrate Halloween, Ximending is launching the city’s only outdoor haunted house. After opening on the 19th, visitors strolling through the area might be startled at any moment by suddenly appearing “zombies” or “skulls.” The backstreet plaza will be turned into a maze, enhanced with lighting and sound effects, taking the horror level off the charts. There will also be a spooky parade where participants can join in wearing wild costumes to soak up the Halloween vibes.

The newly planned haunted house art exhibition kicked off on the 19th at the Film Theme Park. The organizers adopted the theme “So scary it could kill you,” inviting local special effects makeup studio “Huali Special Effects” and graffiti team “CITYMARX Urban Sign” to jointly create the outdoor haunted house. With vibrant graffiti and hyper-realistic body molds, plus terrifying ghost figures placed around every corner, the eerie atmosphere is amped up even more.

The Film Theme Park stated that the specially “enhanced” body molds designed by the creative team include zombies and skulls often seen in movies, as well as gory severed hands, feet, and eyeballs – guaranteed to send chills down your spine. Due to their extreme scariness, they will only be displayed during the event period and hidden away after 9 p.m. to avoid frightening unsuspecting visitors.

The outdoor haunted house exhibition runs until November 3rd, open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and admission is completely free. Starting at 2 p.m. on October 26th, a variety of Halloween activities will take place, including the CINEMArket West Nao Secondhand Market, Little Ghosts Candy Grab, Ximending Halloween Nightclub performances, group costume parades, and finally, a Halloween party.
