Chun Chun Braised Snacks
Chun Chun Braised Snacks uses a large pot braising method, resulting in a flavor that is saltier and sweeter. If you usually prefer lighter tastes, you can ask the owner to pack the sauce separately instead of mixing it in. Since the ingredients here are freshly braised daily and sold straight from the stall, the food is very fresh — so fresh that you might need to line up two hours in advance to get some. This popularity even caught the attention of the food show “Foodie Bistro,” which came to film here. If you want to try it, be sure to head out early to grab a number ticket. The owner announces on the group chat between 8–9 PM each night whether they’ll be open, so remember to check if they’re serving before you go queuing, or you might end up empty-handed.

Inherited Braised Snacks
Offers a unique hot braised snack style. Originally named Five Blessings Cantonese Authentic Braised Snacks (Lantern Braised Snacks), it was once located near Nandu Theater and was a popular spot. It has now moved to You’ai Street near Guohua Street shopping area. Taken over by the third generation in 2016 and renamed Inherited Braised Snacks. In the early days of Taiwan, cold braised snacks dominated, but this shop was the first to pioneer hot braised snacks. Using 16 types of Chinese herbal ingredients plus a specially made fruit-based sauce, the flavor is rich, mellow, and leaves a sweet aftertaste. With over 80 ingredient options, there's plenty to satisfy hot braised snack lovers. It’s recommended to pair it with their exclusive spicy powder mixed with the braising juice — spicy, numbing, and incredibly satisfying. Even better with a side of instant noodles for a more filling meal. (Text / Hu Li Xiao Hai Hai)Hu Li Xiao Hai Hai)

Spicy Mom Braised Snacks

When it comes to Huashan Market food, there’s a popular saying online: “Upstairs has Fu Hang, downstairs has Spicy Mom,” showing just how well-known the first-floor Spicy Mom Braised Snacks really is. Spicy Mom serves wet braised snacks, and its biggest highlight is that the braising juice is actually drinkable. The signature braising broth isn’t overly salty and has a slightly sweet and savory taste. Add a bit of spice, and the flavor becomes even more addictive. Regulars often ask the boss to pack extra juice to take home and reuse as soup stock. Popular toppings include vegetarian tripe, duck blood, braised eggs, and meatballs.
