A vast carpet of floral blooms — the ancient pavilion riverside park in late autumn is stunning

There’s still a sea of flowers to enjoy in late autumn ! Recently, Taipei’s Guting Riverside Park has been covered with a large floral-patterned carpet woven together by angelonia, gloriosa daisy, and scarlet sage. Without needing to go abroad, visitors can admire what looks like a vibrant lavender field in Hokkaido. Starting now, the floral season will continue for two months, and even when winter sets in, there will still be floral landscapes on display.

The floral landscape renovation project at Guting Riverside Park was recently completed. Currently, you can see a vast carpet of red, purple, white, and pink floral designs. The Water Resources Department stated that since the park is adjacent to the Hakka Cultural Theme Park, the design of the floral patterns draws inspiration from the imagery of water ripples and Hakka terraced fields. To add more Hakka character, a mix of warm, colorful tones and cool, romantic hues were used to present the vibrant patterns reminiscent of Hakka fabric designs.

The Water Resources Department pointed out that the floral display will last for about two months. Visitors can walk from Exit 4 of the Gongguan MRT Station toward Yongfu Bridge on Siyuan Road. Those who prefer to cycle can rent a bicycle at the Jingshu Rental Station at the Taipei Water Park’s Gongguan Waterfront Plaza and ride toward the Hakka Cultural Area to reach the park. The department recommends that visitors cycle up to the elevated platform in the Hakka Cultural Area, which offers a panoramic view of the entire floral sea. In the evening, you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset.
